Merit and Perspective

Jason Winner- I have spent over 25 years consistently learning, teaching, coaching and helping people.  I have spent time owning and operating a nationally certified personal training business and helped build a successful private money management firm before deciding to dedicate my career to public service.  During that time I have worked my way up to a master-level instructor and coach while learning how to operate on various teams within my agency in the Pacific Northwest.  I have also helped start and serve on a peer support team and served as a trained facilitator for critical incident debriefing.  I understand team-building and motivating people and I combine my experience with fact-based, and logical research to understand problems so I can explain solutions in an easy to understand way.  I am passionate about sharing what I have learned to provide valuable, actionable solutions that can be implemented immediately.

Sarah Winner- Working alongside Jason in service to first responders and their families is my dream job!  43rd mission is our calling and the perfect pairing of our skillsets and lived experience.  I have over 16 years of experience in education training, curriculum implementation, and event planning. I maintain an established history of managing successful events, training sessions and workshops, both online and in person.  In addition to my work for 43rd Mission, I can help you with workshop facilitation, event coordination, marketing, power point presentations, as well as event-day support.

Our 43rd Mission

We were babies in the picture above!  We had a life ahead of us learning how to balance a job being on call 24/7, while working and training day and night.  During this time we would grow our family and gain leadership experience in a fast-paced, high stress environment.  Simultaneously Jason would obtain a master’s degree in Public Safety Leadership while moving up the ranks as an instructor and assistant SWAT team leader.  It was the culmination of a lifetime dream.  He'd wanted to be on that team since he was young and he went all in.  As a result, both good and not so good, stress became a member of our family and it took a toll on all of us in one way or another.

It was a time where Jason experienced his second wake-up call, but it didn’t get his attention and he kept pushing.  Eventually he was faced with a decision to promote, but per department policy it meant giving up his position on the SWAT team.  After 42 official missions, we moved on to the next phase.  In 2019, we unofficially launched our 43rd mission- serving first responders and their families.

Watch the video below to hear about Jason's three wake-up calls and how they drive our passion for first-responder wellness.
